This was my first Ultimix on 5FM, which aired in February 2008, creatively titled: Cheeky’s First Ultimix.
The 5FM Ultimix At 6 aired during prime time on weekdays at 6PM on South Africa’s leading national radio station, 5FM. An Ultimix gave guest DJs 25 minutes to showcase their skills.
While previous guest’s Ultimixes had simply been normal DJ mixes, this was the first Ultimix of its kind to be aired that was in a megamix format.
This was favourably received by the listening audience, and resulted in three more of my mixes being played on the show that year, another first for a guest DJ.
